He visited all the Pre-Reception and Reception Grade classes just after the special assembly, handing out sweets and suckers to those children who had done the right thing. Those teachers and teaching assistants who had also been good throughout the year were similarly rewarded.
Questions asked of him included, "Are you real?" (of course I am!), "Where is your sleigh?" (at the panelbeaters) and "How will you fit down our chimney on Christmas Eve?" (I'm working on that one...).
We understand that special arrangements had to be made with the air traffic controllers at Cape Town International airport on his departure, to avoid entanglement between an incoming Jumbo jet and an unidentified string of flying reindeer.
